BioI am a citizen of Earth. I believe that every sentient is entitled to basic rights. Much conflict arises from how these rights are to be balanced. Another problem in our world has to do with the distribution of goods and services: much of the turmoil stems from an inequality in this respect. As long as one is thinking deeply you can notice the meaning behind much of the background chaos. There are many fascinating topics out there that one can explore.
Lately one of the thoughts I have pondered is the quandary caused by our society's emphasis on competition. The notion of having to best others in order to be satisfied with one's self seems grossly malevolent and misdirected. Therefore, in my philosophy I question the need to try and defeat others and in its stead I think that one must seek a disposition that is in favor of the self and others.
NB-In regards to my schools, a few years ago I completed my work for my M.A. in Social Studies Education. Since Livejournal doesn't seem to let you add a school you attended before for another degree, I simply have it listed for when I attended as an undergrad. Just imagine that there is a second installment of Villanova University that has me there as a graduate student from 2005-06.
